Hadith About Eyebrows Plucking

Ibn Mas’ud (May Allah be pleased with him) said:

Allah has cursed those women who practice tattooing and those women who have themselves tattooed, those women who get their hair removed from their eyebrows and faces (except the beard and the mustache), and those who make artificial spaces between their teeth for beauty, whereby they change Allah’s creation. A woman started to argue with him, saying: “What is all this?” He replied: “Why should I not curse those whom the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) cursed and who are cursed in Allah’s Book? Allah, the Exalted, has said in His Book: “And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad (ﷺ)) gives you, take it; and whatsoever he forbids you, abstains (from it).” (59:7)

Hadith About Shaving Eyebrows In Arabic

وعن ابن مسعود رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ لعن الله الواشمات والمستوشمات والمتنمصات والمتفلجات بالحسن، المغيرات خلق الله‏!‏ فقالت له امرأة في ذلك فقال‏:‏ وما لي لا ألعن من لعنه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو في كتاب الله‏؟‏‏!‏ قال الله تعالى‏:‏ ‏{‏وما آتاكم الرسول فخذوه وما نهاكم عنه فانتهوا‏}‏ ‏(‏‏(‏الحشر‏:‏7‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏‏

Hadith About Eyebrows for Men

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) cursed the woman who does tattoos and the one who has them done, those who pluck their eyebrows and file their teeth for the purpose of beautification, and those who change the creation of Allah.

Hadith About Plucking Eyebrows in Urdu

:ابن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا

اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان عورتوں پر لعنت فرمائی ہے جو گودنے کی مشق کرتی ہیں اور ان عورتوں پر جنہوں نے خود گودا کرایا ہے، اور ان عورتوں پر جو اپنی بھنویں اور چہرے سے بال اتارتی ہیں (سوائے داڑھی اور مونچھوں کے) اور جو خوبصورتی کے لیے اپنے دانتوں کے درمیان مصنوعی جگہ بناتی ہیں، جس سے وہ اللہ کی مخلوق کو بدل دیتے ہیں۔ ایک عورت نے اس سے بحث شروع کر دی اور کہا: یہ سب کیا ہے؟ اس نے جواب دیا: کیوں نہ میں ان لوگوں پر لعنت کروں جن پر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے لعنت کی ہے اور جن پر اللہ کی کتاب میں لعنت ہے، اللہ تعالیٰ نے اپنی کتاب میں فرمایا ہے: “اور جو کچھ تمہیں رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) دیں اسے لے لو اور جس سے منع کریں اس سے رک جاؤ۔” (59:7)

Hadith About Tattoos and Eyebrows

It was narrated that ‘Abdullah said:

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) cursed the woman who does tattoos and the one who has them done, and those who pluck their eyebrows and file their teeth for beautification, and those who change the creation of Allah.”

 لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ الْوَاشِمَاتِ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَاتِ وَالْمُتَنَمِّصَاتِ وَالْمُتَفَلِّجَاتِ لِلْحُسْنِ الْمُغَيِّرَاتِ لِخَلْقِ اللَّهِ ‏.‏

(سنن ابن ماجہ 1989)

Is It Haram to Thread Your Eyebrows in Islam?

If a woman’s eyebrows resemble those of men and whenever she attends gatherings, people joke about her or tease her, then in this situation, she can pluck them slightly to make them look more like a woman’s eyebrows. However, if a beautiful woman’s eyebrows are already normal, but she still wants to pluck or shave them excessively, thinking it will enhance her beauty, then Allah’s curse is upon such women.

Conclusion 

Please remember not to do this if your eyebrows are already normal. Although it’s common in our society for every girl to do it, it is considered a sin.
