It was narrated that Yahya bin Abu Ishaq Al-Huna’i said:
āI asked Anas bin Malik: ‘What if a man gives his brother a loan, then (the borrower) give him a gift?ā The Messenger of Allah (ļ·ŗ) said: āIf anyone of you borrow something then he gives (the lender) a gift or gives him a ride on his riding-beast, he should not accept the gift or the ride, unless they used to treat each other in that manner beforehand.’ā

Abu Bakr wrote to me what Allah’s Messenger (ļ·ŗ) has made compulsory (regarding Zakat) and this was mentioned in it: If a property is equally owned by two partners, they should pay the combined Zakat and it will be considered that both of them have paid their Zakat equally.

“Charity does not decrease wealth, no one forgives another except that Allah increases his honor, and no one humbles himself for the sake of Allah except that Allah raises his status.”

The Prophet Muhammad (ļ·ŗ) said:
“A man who gives in charity and hides it, such that his left-hand does not know what his right hand has given.”

“Your smiling in the face of your brother is charity, commanding good and forbidding evil is charity, your giving directions to a man lost in the land is charity for you. Your seeing for a man with bad sight is a charity for you, your removal of a rock, a thorn or a bone from the road is a charity for you. Your pouring what remains from your bucket into the bucket of your brother is charity for you.”

“On every joint of man, there is charity, on every day when the sun rises: doing justice between two men is charity, and assisting a man to ride an animal or to load his luggage on it is charity; and a good word is a charity, every step which one takes towards (the mosque for) Salat is charity, and removing harmful things from the way is charity”.
