7 beautiful Quran Verses About Eid ul-Adha

In The Quran, it is mentioned that the story Of the Willigness of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) sacrificed his son to fulfill Allah’s Command. We sacrifice animals on the day of Eid called Eid ul Adha, this is a great occasion because it’s the Sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Muslims perform this beautiful Sunnah all over the world for the pleasure of Allah. Allah gives a great reward to those who sacrifice animals in the name of Allah. It is not exactly mentioned in the Quran verses about Eid ul-Adha so we will explore some Ayat in which Allah gives us the command to sacrifice animals. 

Quran Verses About Eid ul-adha In Arabic and English 

وَأَتِمُّوا۟ ٱلْحَجَّ وَٱلْعُمْرَةَ لِلَّهِ ۚ فَإِنْ أُحْصِرْتُمْ فَمَا ٱسْتَيْسَرَ مِنَ ٱلْهَدْىِ ۖ وَلَا تَحْلِقُوا۟ رُءُوسَكُمْ حَتَّىٰ يَبْلُغَ ٱلْهَدْىُ مَحِلَّهُۥ ۚ فَمَن كَانَ مِنكُم مَّرِيضًا أَوْ بِهِۦٓ أَذًۭى مِّن رَّأْسِهِۦ فَفِدْيَةٌۭ مِّن صِيَامٍ أَوْ صَدَقَةٍ أَوْ نُسُكٍۢ ۚ فَإِذَآ أَمِنتُمْ فَمَن تَمَتَّعَ بِٱلْعُمْرَةِ إِلَى ٱلْحَجِّ فَمَا ٱسْتَيْسَرَ مِنَ ٱلْهَدْىِ ۚ فَمَن لَّمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ ثَلَـٰثَةِ أَيَّامٍۢ فِى ٱلْحَجِّ وَسَبْعَةٍ إِذَا رَجَعْتُمْ ۗ تِلْكَ عَشَرَةٌۭ كَامِلَةٌۭ ۗ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَن لَّمْ يَكُنْ أَهْلُهُۥ حَاضِرِى ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ ۚ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ (١٩٦)

And complete the ḥajj and ʿumrah for Allāh. But if you are prevented, then [offer] what can be obtained with ease of sacrificial animals. And do not shave your head until the sacrificial animal has reached its place of slaughter. And whoever among you is ill or has an ailment of the head [making shaving necessary must offer] a ransom of fasting [three days] or charity or sacrifice. And when you are secure, then whoever performs ʿumrah [during the ḥajj months] followed by ḥajj [offers] what can be obtained with ease of sacrificial animals. And whoever cannot find [or afford such an animal] – then a fast of three days during ḥajj and of seven when you have returned [home]. Those are ten complete [days]. This is for those whose family is not in the area of al-Masjid al-Ḥarām. And fear Allāh and know that Allāh is severe in penalty.

(Surah Al Baqarah Ayat 196)

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تُحِلُّوا۟ شَعَـٰٓئِرَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا ٱلشَّهْرَ ٱلْحَرَامَ وَلَا ٱلْهَدْىَ وَلَا ٱلْقَلَـٰٓئِدَ وَلَآ ءَآمِّينَ ٱلْبَيْتَ ٱلْحَرَامَ يَبْتَغُونَ فَضْلًۭا مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَرِضْوَٰنًۭا ۚ وَإِذَا حَلَلْتُمْ فَٱصْطَادُوا۟ ۚ وَلَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَـَٔانُ قَوْمٍ أَن صَدُّوكُمْ عَنِ ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ أَن تَعْتَدُوا۟ ۘ وَتَعَاوَنُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلْبِرِّ وَٱلتَّقْوَىٰ ۖ وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْعُدْوَٰنِ ۚ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ (٢)

O you who have believed, do not violate the rites of Allāh or [the sanctity of] the sacred month or [neglect the marking of] the sacrificial animals and garlanding [them] or [violate the safety of] those coming to the Sacred House seeking bounty from their Lord and [His] approval. But when you come out of iḥrām, then [you may] hunt. And do not let the hatred of a people for having obstructed you from al-Masjid al-Ḥarām lead you to transgress. And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allāh; indeed, Allāh is severe in penalty.

(Surah Al Maidah Ayat 2)

لِّيَشْهَدُوا۟ مَنَـٰفِعَ لَهُمْ وَيَذْكُرُوا۟ ٱسْمَ ٱللَّهِ فِىٓ أَيَّامٍۢ مَّعْلُومَـٰتٍ عَلَىٰ مَا رَزَقَهُم مِّنۢ بَهِيمَةِ ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ ۖ فَكُلُوا۟ مِنْهَا وَأَطْعِمُوا۟ ٱلْبَآئِسَ ٱلْفَقِيرَ (٢٨)

That they may witness [i.e., attend] benefits for themselves and mention the name of Allāh on known [i.e., specific] days over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals.1 So eat of them and feed the miserable and poor.

(Surah Al Hajj Ayat 28)

وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍۢ جَعَلْنَا مَنسَكًۭا لِّيَذْكُرُوا۟ ٱسْمَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَىٰ مَا رَزَقَهُم مِّنۢ بَهِيمَةِ ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ ۗ فَإِلَـٰهُكُمْ إِلَـٰهٌۭ وَٰحِدٌۭ فَلَهُۥٓ أَسْلِمُوا۟ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ ٱلْمُخْبِتِينَ (٣٤)

And for every [religious] community We have appointed a rite [of sacrifice]1 that they may mention the name of Allāh over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals. For your god is one God, so to Him submit. And, [O Muḥammad], give good tidings to the humble [before their Lord]

(Surah Al-Hajj Ayat 34)

قُلْ إِنَّ صَلَاتِى وَنُسُكِى وَمَحْيَاىَ وَمَمَاتِى لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (١٦٢)

Say, “Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allāh, Lord of the worlds.

(Surah Al Anam Ayat 162)

ثُمَّ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ أَنِ ٱتَّبِعْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًۭا ۖ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ

Then We revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], to follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of those who associate with Allāh.

(Surah An Nahl Ayat 123)

فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ السَّعْیَ قَالَ یٰبُنَیَّ اِنِّیْۤ اَرٰى فِی الْمَنَامِ اَنِّیْۤ اَذْبَحُكَ فَانْظُرْ مَا ذَا تَرٰىؕ-قَالَ یٰۤاَبَتِ افْعَلْ مَا تُؤْمَرُ٘-سَتَجِدُنِیْۤ اِنْ شَآءَ اللّٰهُ مِنَ الصّٰبِرِیْنَ(102)

Then when the boy reached the age to work with him, Abraham said, “O my dear son! I have seen in a dream that I (must) sacrifice you. So tell me what you think.” He replied, “O my dear father! Do as you are commanded. Allah willing, you will find me steadfast.”

(Surah As Saffat Ayat 102)

Quran Ayat About Eid ul Adha In Urdu 

اور حج اور عمرہ اللہ کے لئے پورا کرو پھر اگر تمہیں (مکہ سے) روک دیا جائے تو (حرم میں ) قربانی کا جانور بھیجو جو میسر آئے اور اپنے سر نہ منڈاؤ جب تک قربانی اپنے ٹھکانے پر نہ پہنچ جائے پھر جو تم میں بیمار ہو یا اس کے سر میں کچھ تکلیف ہے تو روزے یا خیرات یا قربانی کا فدیہ دے پھر جب تم اطمینان سے ہو تو جو حج سے عمرہ ملانے کا فائدہ اٹھائے اس پر قربانی لازم ہے جیسی میسر ہو پھر جو (قربانی کی قدرت) نہ پائے تو تین روزے حج کے دنوں میں رکھے اور سات روزے (اس وقت رکھو) جب تم اپنے گھر لوٹ کر جاؤ، یہ مکمل دس ہیں ۔یہ حکم اس کے لئے ہے جو مکہ کا رہنے والا نہ ہو اور اللہ سے ڈرتے رہو اور جان رکھو کہ اللہ شدید عذاب دینے والا ہے۔

(Surah Al Baqarah Ayat 196)

اے ایمان والو! اللہ کی نشانیاں حلال نہ ٹھہرالو اور نہ ادب والے مہینے اور نہ حرم کو بھیجی گئی قربانیاں اور نہ(حرم میں لائے جانے والے وہ جانور)جن کے گلے میں علامتی پٹے ہوں اور نہ ادب والے گھر کا قصد کرکے آنے والوں (کے مال و عزت) کوجو اپنے رب کا فضل اور اس کی رضا تلاش کرتے ہیں اور جب احرام سے باہر جاؤ تو شکار کرسکتے ہو اور تمہیں کسی قوم کی دشمنی اس وجہ سے زیادتی کرنے پر نہ ابھارے کہ انہوں نے تمہیں مسجدِ حرام سے روکا تھا اور نیکی اور پرہیزگاری پر ایک دوسرے کی مدد کرو اور گناہ اور زیادتی پر باہم مدد نہ کرو اور اللہ سے ڈرتے رہو بیشک اللہ شدید عذاب دینے والا ہے۔

(Surah Al Maidah Ayat 2)

تاکہ وہ اپنا فائدہ پائیں اور اللہ کا نام لیں جانے ہوئے دنوں میں اس پر کہ انہیں روزی دی بے زبان چوپائے تو ان میں سے خود کھاؤ اور مصیبت زدہ محتاج کو کھلاؤ۔

(Surah Al Hajj Ayat 28)

اور ہر امت کے لیے ہم نے ایک قربانی مقرر فرمائی تا کہ وہ اس بات پر اللہ کا نام یاد کریں کہ اس نے انہیں بے زبان چوپایوں سے رزق دیا تو تمہارا معبود ایک معبود ہے تو اسی کے حضور گردن رکھو اور عاجزی کرنے والوں کیلئے خوشخبری سنادو۔

(Surah Al Hajj Ayat 34)

تم فرماؤ، بیشک میری نماز اور میری قربانیاں اور میرا جینا اور میرا مرنا سب اللہ کے لیے ہے جو سارے جہانوں کا رب ہے۔

(Surah Al Anam Ayat 162)

پھر ہم نے آپ کی طرف وحی بھیجی کہ (آپ بھی) دینِ ابراہیم کی پیروی کریں جو ہر باطل سے جدا تھے اور وہ مشرک نہ تھے۔

(Surah An Nahl Ayat 123)

پھر جب وہ اس کے ساتھ کوشش کرنے کے قابل عمر کو پہنچ گیا توابراہیم نے کہا: اے میرے بیٹے! میں نے خواب میں دیکھا کہ میں تجھے ذبح کررہا ہوں ۔اب تو دیکھ کہ تیری کیا رائے ہے ؟بیٹے نے کہا: اے میرے باپ! آپ وہی کریں جس کا آپ کو حکم دیاجارہا ہے۔ اِنْ شَاءَاللہ عنقریب آپ مجھے صبر کرنے والوں میں سے پائیں گے۔

(Surah As Saffat Ayat 102)

Is Eid ul Adha Mentioned In the Quran

No, “Eid ul Adha” is not mentioned in the Quran. 

Conclusion 

As the Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) fulfilled Allah’s command. So it’s very very important to perform this Sunnah. Because it’s mentioned in the Quran (Surah An Nahl Ayat 123) “Then We revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], to follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of those who associate with Allāh”. So Muslims Are following the Region of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Therefore we sacrifice animals in the name of Allah when the day of Eid ul Adha comes. Also, read
