For fever, and all pains, the Prophet (ﷺ) would teach them to say: 

‏ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الْكَبِيرِ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ عِرْقٍ نَعَّارٍ وَمِنْ شَرِّ حَرِّ النَّارِ ‏”‏”

In English 

Bismillahil-Kabir; a’udhu billahil-‘Azimi min sharri kulli ‘irqin na’arin, wa min sharri harrin-nar. 


”In the name of Allah the Great, I seek refuge with Allah the Magnificent from the evil of every gushing vein, and from the evil of the heat of the Fire”

Place your hand at the place where you feel pain in your body and say three times 

بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ

Bismillah (in the name of Allah) 

and seven times 

أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ وَقُدْرَتِهِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أَجِدُ وَأُحَاذِرُ ‏”‏ ‏.‏”

In English

A’udhu billahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhiru 


(I seek refuge with Allah and with His Power from the evil that I find and that I fear).

It is narrated that Aisha (Radi Allahu Anha) said that when anyone among them had an illness, the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to rub the area of the pain and recite the following dua for protection:

اللَّهُمَّ ربَّ النَّاسِ ، أَذْهِب الْبَأسَ ، واشْفِ ، أَنْتَ الشَّافي لا شِفَاءَ إِلاَّ شِفَاؤُكَ ، شِفاءً لا يُغَادِرُ سقَماً

In English 

Allahumma Rabban-naas, azhibil-ba’s, washfi antash-Shaafi laa shifaa’a illaa shifaa’uka, shifaa’an laa yughaadiru saqamaa


“O Allah, Lord of mankind, do away with my suffering. Heal (me) as You are the only Healer and there is no cure except that of Yours, it is that which leaves no ailment behind”


Islam has special prayers for when women are in pain, especially during childbirth. These ‘duas’ are about turning to Allah and asking for help. Narrated `Aisha (Radi Allahu anha):

An Ansari woman asked the Prophet (ﷺ) how to take a bath after finishing from the menses. He replied, “Take a piece a cloth perfumed with musk and clean the private parts with it thrice.” The Prophet (ﷺ) felt shy and turned his face. So I pulled her to me and told her what the Prophet (ﷺ) meant.
